Drove into the Bay Area. Enjoyed the scenery and crossing the bridge. Even though it was the bay, I was still excited to see the other ocean. We managed to locate the Castro, parked and walked around for a couple hours. Went in all the kitschy shops, bought postcards, finally found some great faggy earring for myself. Drove down Mission Street toward downtown and Chinatown. Went in some used bookstore and such, then met Melro's friend for lunch at the Stinking Rose. After lunch, we headed south towards Palo Alto, where I got the future former president Melanie Rowen history tour, including birthplace, elementary school, middle school, and house where she grew up. Then we went to B__'s (the car-owner and Melro's best friend) parents house, where they took us out to dinner, bought us ice cream, and I generally had a fabulous time with them. Very sweet and funny people. Though I did feel like it was almost more pressure that they liked me, because then I had to maintain my charming demeanor – ha ha.

I haven't gotten to read LJ, and I"m resisting the temptation to do it now, since I have 3 minutes left before handing the computer over to MelRo. But just wanted to say howdy to all my partners in crime! Cali is great, the weather is nice, and we're having some fun adventures and staying busy. Thanks to folks who have e-mailed me in the meantime.
