raybear: (cranky)
I'd like to personally wish a happy xmas to the stupid fuck who insisted on having a car alarm on their overpriced possession, then park it in the alley outside my bedroom and not notice when it goes off at 7 am on my day off. Fuck you and I hope your windows were bashed which is why the alarm went off.

The alarm went off for 33 minutes. Not that I was counting. I first opened my eyes at 7:03 when it went off, and managed to sorta go back to sleep while incorporating the noise into my dreams. By 7:14 I gave up and tried the pillow over my head trick, but I could still hear it AND I was suffocating. I tossed and turned for about 10 more minutes. I hear sirens approaching -- first a firetruck, next cops. But they moved away. I got up to get the phone. I went around to all the windows in the apartment, trying to locate it. Just after 7:30 it stopped.

It's 7:53. I gave up going back to sleep and turned on the laptop. I'm very happy I did this. Because the car alarm just started again. I'm tempted to put on clothes and give the car something to cause alarm.

So I just called 311 which sent me to 911 and reported "the noise disturbance". I also was able to "remain anonymous" which I hope means I don't have to get dressed and talk to someone in uniform. The last time I called 911 for a noise complaint, I had to talk to the cop to explain why I called, which seemed ridiculous, since he was standing in my driveway and could hear the neighbor's sonic speaker music making our house vibrate at 3 am. But that was outside Atlanta, in a residential neighborhood -- a, dare I say, subdivision. Maybe things are different in the big city. Maybe it also helped that I called from a cell phone.

I may be awake enough to clean the kitchen and over, but I'm too annoyed to do it. I think I'll read my free issue of Entertainment Weekly instead. And perhaps find a CD to play in the computer and down out the repetive 'a-wah-wah-whe'.
