It's Friday afternoon and I'm so simultaneously relieved that the workweek is over yet also preoccupied with the painful mouth sore right on the corner inside where my lips meet. Ow, ow, ouch. It's hard to eat and smile, and of course I keep tongueing and making it worse because that's what people do. The pain is only became more overwhelming since lunch where I purchased a protein drink that ended up being fruit juice based instead of soy milk based, so the acidic juices inflamed the area. Owwwww.
Other than that life is peachy keen. If by that phrase I mean dark and cloudy and rainy and I forgot a jacket.
I had lunch with Paradise Regained and apparantly we're on parallel tracks because she and her girlfriend also got a dog since the last time we dined. Strange coincidence. We're hoping they will be come puppy playpals: Sophie and Henry. That sounds like the the new romantic comedy of the season.
I also purchased DVDs today. But wait, I don't have a DVD player! Well, there was this great 2-pack on sale (Ghost Dog and The Limey), plus I realized my birthday is only 12 days away, which means in two weeks I WILL have a DVD player. And I also bought a 2-pack of Bruce Lee movies but I'm giving it to Damon as an apartment-warming present. I nearly purchased the Wet Hot American Summer DVD because it had deleted scenes and 5 hours of audio commentary from folks including Janeane, but that seemed excessive for right now. (Stuey I hope you have a DVD player.)
I've never been someone who relished birthday celebrations. But I feel like in the past 2 years I've come to let myself enjoy the attention a little bit more. Maybe because I have more people in my life who force me to accept and receive their gifts and showing of affection.
But I still hate surprise parties.
I was supposed to be born a Gemini. I think my mother's due date was right around now, but I was about 2 weeks late. I wonder what sort of Gemini I would be. I already feel like a dual personality between my Cancer and Aries, I can't imagine having more sides.
