Wow, you two do look alike.
Aug. 15th, 2002 10:22 amApologies to Riley and Vanessa and my unintentional dis by not following through on the evening plans last night. I got a call last night from Lauren who has a stalker emergency and was requesting my attendance with her at a yuppie sports bar around the corner from my abode in order to casually and accidentally run into this guy she been on- and off- again with for the past couple years. So she came with me for a brief jaunt to the dog walk to break down the situation and explain the details, and then we headed over to the illustrious Lakeview Links. w00t.
Strangely enough, I saw a guy I had previously had a "moment" with on the street earlier in the evening -- on my way home I was making more eye contact than usual, checking out who was wandering around, and coming towards me was this tall bearded fellow who reminded me of someone I knew in college. I watched him as he approached, thinking he was sort of cute, and he looked up and did the little half-smile, half-nod acknowledgment. Not quite a "I'm checking out" look, but remarkably friendly for a stranger on Belmont. So anyway, he was at the bar, and I tried to scope him harder, but he seemed to almost be deliberately avoiding my stare. Maybe he didn't want me to out him.
MelRo's College Friend came into town last night and they're off to a wedding today in the St. Louis area, which means I have the apartment to myself all weekend. I think this will do wonders for my mental health, and I look forward to her return and me being in better spirits. I don't even mind having another houseguest, especially since I rather enjoy College Friend because she's most agreeable and extremely social and friendly.
Higlights of today include lunch with Kraftwerk Librarian and a trip to the United ticketing office. Have I mentioned there are currently no attorneys in the office right now? Peace and quiet and off to clean of the desks so the asbestos cleaning crew can do their job tonight. Seriously.
