So yesterday I read an article on National Novel Writing month and considered doing it, and then [livejournal.com profile] djblax announced his new journal [livejournal.com profile] writerdean, so I decided to follow my gut from yesterday and borrow his brilliant idea, so I'd like to introduce:

[livejournal.com profile] writerraymond

Clever name, eh? (Thanks Dean!) So anyway, if you want to read my terrible novel I'll be writing this month, feel free to check in periodically. Or you can just wait until November 30th when it's completed.

It has to be 175 pages, 50,000 words and done by midnight. For more info (or to join up), check the site: www.nanowrimo.org.

Wish me luck!

Maybe I should write something here. I suspect I might not write here quite as much this month -- I might take any anecdotes and just put them in the novel. Like most fiction, it's semi-autobiographical. And who knows, I might put you into my story.

Last night I watched a Halloween episode of Buffy as well as the original movie John Carpenter's Halloween. I wanted to scare myself some more by watching The Others, but MelRo convinced me to go to bed instead, which really didn't take much effort at all.

Tonight is the date with Richard and tomorrow is the lunch date with Bill. I also realized last night that the Reader came out again, so I might get another round of calls this weekend, though probably not as significant. Of course, as I type this I checked my box and there's another new one. I'll do a quick transcribing.

7:16 am, Nov 1.: Hi my name's Tim. I'm a 51 yo gay white professional man...you don't sound nerdy at all dude....I'm open-minded, always looking for new friends...I may be out of your age range....call me, otherwise good luck in search hope you find a lot of nice people. take care.

Damnit, I wasn't going to call but then he wished me luck. I'm such a sucker. Though he left a message at 7:15 this morning. What's that about? And he called me "dude". I mean, I'm not morally opposed to that word at all times or anything, but the fact that he used it off the bat sounds strange to me. It also sounds like he's talking on a phone in the bathroom -- it had that strange echoy sound.

I should go get this project done with Hot Co-worker (who I had lunch with today). He's so fabulous and funny.
