The Short Report
Mar. 2nd, 2003 04:56 pmAs much as the words and images and stories are cramming my brain, I just can't make myself write now about my weekend because I was toppled by a huge wave of exhaustion. I'm going to take a nap, then have dinner with MelRo. Later this evening, perhaps I'll get it together and write the long detailed account I have in my head. But no promises.
Though in a few words, Friday night's gig went okay. Actually I was absolutely miserable at some moments, but as more time passes, my perception of the event changes. It really wasn't that bad. And there were also some fun and good and hilarious moments. Including when I near impaled myself by running at half-speed into a booth in my attempt to take a bathroom break during a drag king performance of Marky Mark's Good Vibrations. In my attempt to not plow down Maxx Hollywood, wave to Manny Handson, and maintain a quick speed, I forgot the route back to the booth and came out of the door like a horse breaking through the gates on the track. Assuming the horse made a sharp right turn and ran into the fence.
But anyway, yes, I'm glad the people who were dancing seemed to be enjoying themselves, even though I wanted more bodies on the floor. And Damon stayed to the bitter end which wasn't really that bitter since I got to cut out early and got paid in cash.
And last night was the playdate with Lady Lynx....and well, last night is the real story. But for now I will state that it was an amazing and intense experience that will be constantly hovering near the edge of my conscious for the next several days, I'm sure.
