I'm majorly b-boyed out today: dark jeans, yellow wallabys, brooklyn funk club t-shirt, new york hooded sweatshirt, topped off with a 3rd Rail black nylon coat (that I found in a box outside salvation army and Miss Rook convinced me to take). I caught reflections of myself occasionally in the rain this morning and thought "hmmmm, tasty." Even funnier is that I was rocking Babs on the ipod on the train.
I've seen a few ads at bus stops for the new ipod that holds 10,000 songs and I get these creeping urges of consumerist want, that feeling of "hey! they're not allowed to release a better version of what I have!" but that I stop and realize my ipod holds 7,000 songs and I don't currently have it up to even 3,000. And that's really a crapload of music. Seriously. I mean, at a four hour DJ gig, I play approximately 60 songs. I know this because I was bored on Saturday night while spinning and did musical math problems in my head to keep myself occupied. So 10,000 songs? You'd have to listen to music nonstop 24 hours a day for four weeks before you ran out. So yeah, I think I'm more than okay with my current toy.
Last night I took two melatonins at 10 pm, but I didn't fall asleep until close to midnight. Although I think it did partially cause my strange reaction to an unexpected phone call from
mrmturtle. My body slips into habits so quickly, and since I didn't make it to bed before 2 am any night this weekend, it was resistant to break the pattern, even if I was tired. But I had a good night's sleep, even if I did wake in the middle of the night after dreaming that Sophie had gotten sick all over the living room. Luckily it was just a dream and there was no middle-of-the-night gross cleanup.
I miss the weekend. I'm lucky to have another exciting one coming up. But I still miss this past one.
