raybear: (switch)
I'm in quite a pleasant mood this morning. Not a manic high where I'm hyper for an hour or two than I inevitably crash into a low. More of a humming in the shower good mood, where I ride on the train and don't feel my heart sinking as I go underground and approach the downtown work area.

I started to get sucked into the evil vortex of work after being here an hour, so I left to walk to the post office. Now I'm back and drugging myself with a second cup of coffee.

Even though I was exhausted last night I still did some reading before bed because I was drawn to the latest issue of The Believer, which I resisted for awhile and I still have ambivalence about my enjoyment of anything Dave Eggers-related. I used to be a huge McSweeney's addict and before the days of livejournal I would spend my idle time at work reading the archives of their site. But at some point I got saturated by cleverness and cut myself off.

Last night I was won over by the two articles I read, one essay on how-to-write books and another on Sweet Valley High books. So now I'm tempted to subscribe except in part of my dreams last night Lowenstein was asking me exactly how many magazine subscriptions I had because our house seemed over-run with glossy paper everywhere. And in my dream I had hundreds of subscriptions and I couldn't figure out why because I didn't order them, they just kept arriving in bulk and piling up and I was somehow trying to actually read them all.

I think my dream was a symbol of the dishes piling up and for my closet which is currently upsetting me. Not only do I need to go through and pull clothes to giveaway, but I need some sort of storage solutions because everything is spilling out everywhere.

Um, I just sounded like an ad for some organizer store. It's time to channel this good mood into something more exciting and fabulous.
