I have, like, a dozen blank books lying around (in addition to the ones that I've started to fill but still remain 80-90% blank) and I'm thinking about starting one and titling it The Unabridged and Uncensored Journal of an Overeducated Intelligent-but-Undisciplined Artistically-Paralyzed Poseur and every entry would start with some variation of "I suck" and confessing all my negative habits and behavior that contributes to the struggle of finding my identity as a writer.

But not today, gentle reader, not today. Today was perhaps a bit of a lazy day, with the sleeping until 10:30 am and the not showering and getting dressed until the mid-afternoon, but I would overall deem today an outrageous success in terms of confidence and a touch of productivity.

I did some meditating and lots of reading and submitted a revised short story to a journal that realistically will probably not publish it, but hey, why not. Also, it took me three weeks and 45 minutes to finally write a long e-mail to my mentor, detailing what I'm up to, and he took all of ten minutes to receive it, read it, and reply asking for more. I love/hate him. But accountability is, in the end, a motivational tool for me I must learn to accept as long as I also search for alternative ways. So I quickly DID give him more -- I committed all my free-floating thoughts on this paper into a detailed outline and e-mailed it to him, along with specific pleas for help on sections. I would say my first non-packet packet is a relative success and I'm finally hitting the ground running. Let Operation: My Prolific Semester begin.

Now I'm going to tackle the second half of washing dishes from the impromptu West Side dinner party last night. I was pleased to have so many attendees who enjoyed Raybear's Cooking. And extra thanks to [livejournal.com profile] louche and [livejournal.com profile] swimrgirl3000 who hung out even longer and made us laugh so hard milk would have come from our nose had we been drinking it.

Today is Day 7 of my new vitamins and I still love them and how they make me feel. Life Force Mutiple by Source Naturals, if your curious, but I don't have any stock in them so I'm not pimping them. Maybe I'm mentioning them just to serve as a record, in case I have a stroke tomorrow.

In Other NewsTM, and this might only be understood by [livejournal.com profile] gloeden and [livejournal.com profile] drood, but in the shower today I realized one can mix the verses and choruses of Dusty Springfield's "In the Winter" with "Who Gets Your Love". I was singing them to myself and realized I'd confusedly blended the two songs perfectly and harmoniously.

Yeah, I sing in the shower. It's cliche for a reason.
