This morning I got up at 7:30 am and wrote my 3 page "learning analysis" of the residency I just did in L.A. then I biked over to the post office to mail it priority, then biked back and drank coffee and wrote the second half of my novel outline, the last couple hundred words requiring lots of squeezing and shaking and jumping around to get the last bits of juice out of my head. It's done. Right now I feel it's utterly ridiculous and nonsensical, but it's DONE. And there are 31 chapters in my outline and there are 31 days in Novel Writing Month, which begins today, July 15th and is going until August 15th. This is not the official one, that's in November, just one concocted by my school chums that I've recruited a few local writers to join as well.

So now it's 12:30 and I'm totally jacked up on caffeine and accomplishment, but feeling empty and zoned out. The afternoon is coming and I'm just going to resign myself that mornings are for writing, evenings are for reading, and afternoons are for sleeping and eating and errand running and bikeriding. At some point I should try to figure out what time of day is for "revising and rewriting".

I think I need to shower to regroup.

In Other NewsTM, Lily Bart is dead. I mean, I saw it coming, but damn. I was sitting on the toilet at 11:30 pm when it happened. I wasn't even pissing, I was just literally sitting on the toilet. I like to read in strange places sometimes, especially during critical parts. Usually I'm just hanging off of chairs and couches, but sometimes I need to read while wandering from room to room. But that's not the point. The point is Lily Bart is dead and it made me want to save all my characters though I still don't let them off too easily.

Also, I'm very excited about my trip to New Orleans next month and bonus points that I can count it as "research" as it's part of the setting of some of my novel.

Bounce, bounce, bounce.
