Remember when I said I was going to write more everyday posts?
I went up to Evanston and made copies for 3 1/2 hours straight with no break and I made over 600 copies in that time. This is a personal record for me, as I usually average between 90-100 pages per hour. Then I promptly decided I would not mail off these copies today by 6 pm, but tomorrow instead. I have a packet to send off today to my mentor, yes, the packets are back after 6 months without them, and I decided to prioritize that. Even though the other one pays me. Eh, what can you do.
I was listening to Mitch Hedberg stand-up on my ipod while copying and a couple times laughed out loud which freaked out a couple library patrons nearby.
I sat next to a woman on the bus today who had a nicotine patch tan line on her arm.
One new aspect of my book-buying addiction is that if I find any book put out by NYRB in a used bookstore for $5 or less, I will buy it regardless. This is also true of the Very Short Introduction series. If either one of them every offered a book-of-the-month club (do those still exist?), I would sell plasma to be in it.
I'm really into barbeque potato chips right now, which is strange since I rarely eat chips.
I'm currently reading Larry Brown's collection of short stories called Big Bad Love and then I have to watch the movie version, and I'm thinking, that the ultimate indication to me failing as a writer would be to have my collection of short stories with different protagonists be so similar in style and tone and events that someone could come along and mash one single narrator on top of them all. This happened to Jesus's Son as well.
I must go eat my afternoon meal and get my evening writing done.
