I'm only sexy when I say it's ok
Aug. 15th, 2006 12:27 pmI think its odd that "news" stories often report on celebrities participating in 'wild nights' that are essentially going to bars/clubs and getting drunk. As someone who has watched and attended such evenings, they are generally far from wild, though they often teeter on loud, which perhaps it is common to mistake the two. To me, a wild night would involve things like: crossing state lines, public nudity, trespassing, illegal use of a vehicle, or at the very least waking up the next morning somewhere that is not your bed, preferably even somewhere that is not A bed. Sex and/or intoxication is optional. And the latter on its own is really not enough to constitute "wild", considering the sheer amount of people who do it on a regular basis.
I'm currently in a phase where I'm drinking up large amounts of new (to me) music. I feel like this only happens three times a year, but maybe its more often than that. I know some people think I'm this huge music geek, but actually I'm more of a middle-of-the-road one, and I'm often listening to the same 25 songs over and over and over again. I'm also going through the process of cleaning out my itunes of duplicate tracks and crappy recordings and occasionally just bad songs I don't want. Then I'll probably start deleting songs I rarely listen to and have on CD and don't need them uploaded to my computer. Then I'll tackle my ipod. It's slow and tedious, but not unfulfilling, especially because I'm also coming across tracks I'd forgotten about or new songs I haven't heard. I'm trying to trim down to 10,000 songs. I'm current at 11,300+, which isn't bad considering I was over 12,000 songs before and getting lots of error messages about my disk being full.
Perhaps all this is metaphorical.
My brain isn't working fast enough to write anything more substantial, but I keep typing anyway to keep myself from falling asleep. Damn you, allergy medication.
