Everybody's got their life to live
Aug. 18th, 2006 07:23 amLast night's theme was Songs I've Never Sung Before
1. It Don't Matter to Me -- Bread
2. Common People -- Pulp
3. With You I'm Born Again -- Billy Preston and Syreeta [duet with
vfc]
4. A Little More Love -- Olivia Newton John
5. The Difficult Kind -- Sheryl Crow [duet with
iamthesphinx]
6. Touch Me In the Morning -- Diana Ross
7. After All -- Cher and Peter Cetera [duet with
vfc]
I also jumped on stage and helped a stranger sing Toto's Africa as well as crashing
iamthesphinx's version of Kelly Clarkson's Walk Away.
The Diana Ross one was a little rough because it was in some weird key I couldn't follow and its not like its an easy song in general. I should have just ignored the backing track and sang the version in my head -- that's actually what I do with "Since U Been Gone". But singing that Olivia Newton John song was a dream come true. Ronnie the KJ was chatting with us occasionally and came up and said, hey, I have my personal collection here so if there's something you don't see, ask. And I immediately asked about ONJ. And he had it. And now I want to sing it every time I'm there.
