There was a super pretty boy on the corner of Madison and Dearborn and we locked eyes and then I realized he was handing out something but we made eye contact again and so I decided to accept what he was handing out, maybe even brush against his hand when I did so.
It was a christian tract.
Specifically a mennonite christian tract. All about the song of fools in our wicked society and adultery and vacuums in our hearts. There were two parts I found especially fascinating.
1. "Our nation has strayed far from moral integrity. People even condone and publish freely the sordid conduct of men in high office. Not that evil should be covered, but it should be sufficient to say that man is wicked without exposing all the details of vile conduct. The devil uses this scandal to weaken the resolve of the faithful few to maintain their purity."
In a strange way, I almost agree that the details of "immoral" conduct in the news are used in lurid ways to tantalize consumers and boost ratings, rather than to actually illuminate issues or, you know, do something to fix problems. But I'm guessing this isn't exactly what they meant.
2. "This month's question: Does God honor my marriage if I was married by a woman minister?
[....]
God honors the marriage that a woman minister performed, even though He does not honor her religious ministry.
________
In conclusion, I guess the pretty boy with pouty lips on the corner probably isn't going to makeout with me.
Or would he.....?
