But I have promises to keep.
Apr. 12th, 2007 06:03 pmI'm looking at the weather for Ojai for the weekend and its only going to be in the 60s! This is disappointing, as "swim trunks" is on my list of things to pack. But then I looked at the website for the hotel again and they have a spa & sauna, so I'm still on for my plan of jumping into a tub of water.
Today was one of those days before travel where I run around doing all sort of random small things, some that absolutely do need to get done today (cut my hair, return dvd to library, mail taxes, small freelance project) and some that did not need to get done, but suddenly seemed VERY NECESSARY in the moment, like attempting to export playlists from my ipod to itunes. I am very proud of myself for packing myself an airplane snack, even though I will probably be sleeping for the majority of my 6 am flight. But better to be prepared for not, so I cut up cantelope and pear, added some chunks of ossau irratu (cheese), then some slices of prosciutto, and I have the gayest snack box on the planet. I will be so happy in that white noise flying tube tomorrow and I'm sure the person sitting next to me might find me a little queer, not really in that homo way, but more in that Robert Frost "my little horse must think its queer, to stop without a farmhouse near" sort of way.
I really do not want to be at work. I want to be home, packing my things and then having time for both watching The Wire and possibly pre-travel nookie, while still going to sleep at a somewhat reasonable hour for waking up at 4 am. Eleven o'clock would suffice.
Tomorrow, I get to see my other family and it will be so good.
