(no subject)

I'm in SF! Pride weekend was really fun, probably because I only dabbled in events and didn't exhaust myself with strangers and instead revelled with good friends. I wore my kilt a lot and had my boots blacked in leather alley by a beanpole wisp of a boy (who was pretty and nice, though really only a mediocre bootblack). The weather's weird here because I'm constantly simultaneously hot and cold. I'm drinking a latte and typing this from a coffeeshop near the Castro and about to walk over between here and Noe Valley. I'm driving a hybrid rental car because hey, its my birthday vacation and its California, let's live like a native. Today we are spending some downtown alone and together in the morning (she in the yoga class, me in used bookstores, we have our respective places of worship), then driving up to Napa sometime after lunch to sit in a house with hot tub and have charming people make us dinner. Tomorrow night, a big birthday dinner where worlds pleasantly collide.

I live vacation. I like my family.
