raybear: (...and that)

Why am I forever leaving myself 40 dollars to sustain me for 11 days? Why do I spend my entire paycheck in the first 48 hours? I know most of this is rent, but still.

Today I'm the happy telephone operator. I don't really mind too much, though my phone demeanor is apparantly too bright, chipper and dynamic for a guy. I got called "ma'am" once and this male attorney just called me "hon", which I'm guessing he doesn't say to all the boys. It might also be my congested state which makes my voice higher and speaking through my nose/face versus with my throat/chest.

I was initially perturbed, but not I just think it's funny bullshit. I supposed I should speak in monotone because that's what guys do.
The social cues in our society are fascinating to me. And I'm all about manipulating them for the sake of being seen a certain way (i.e. doing things to 'help pass'). But I certainly don't think they're mandatory and I don't want to do them all the time.

Speaking of phones, I just got someone to hang up on me. My day is complete.

Ninth-Grade Boyfriend Alex once explained that he spoke in a monotone because it prevented his voice from cracking. Maybe that's when they get in the habit.
