Cheaters make the best losers.
Oct. 31st, 2002 04:52 pmSo I did an approximate tally. I was too lazy to get out a calculator and do an actuary's job on getting quiz results. Plus, I had to account for cheating.
Techinically,
cloudsdescin was the winner, though I suspect he cheated on at least one. I initially gave him bonus points for know Big L's Size 'Em Up. But then he quoted the next line and had the EXACT same typo in the lyric at the only place on the internet where those lyrics are posted. You gotta hustle smarter than that.
In the non-cheater department is
vfc. She got fewer ones then Kris, but I know she knew the ones she knew. Got it?
But I'll still call first place a tie.
Second place and third place are unusual as well -- techinically
wrdgrrl answered more correctly, but she confessed to using Google. (But hey, at least she cared!) So she gets bumped to third and
limenal takes second, she only got a handful correct, but she answered everyone anyway and entertained me in the process.
Fourth place goes to
the_passives proving that good things often happen to people who just show up. He only answered one question, but he got it write, and it was one more than everyone else, including you. Sucka.
Here are the answers. You know, in case you care.
With a mind that renders everything sensitive, what chance do I have here?
Not This Time -- Kate Bush
If you don't know by now then you slipping.
Get At Me Dog -- DMX
I get high but I don't get too high, so what's the limit supposed to be?

Out on the street anybody you meet got a heartache of their own
Guilty -- Barbra Steisand/Barry Gibb (Babs's line)
Only to find any dream that I follow is dying. I'm crying in the rain
Heartbreaker -- Dionne Warwick
If only for a minute or two, I wanna feel what if feels like to be without you.
Side of the Road -- Lucinda Williams (or the Verucal Salt cover)
We could slip away, wouldn't that be better?
Autumn Sweater -- Yo La Tengo
Sometimes I wonder why I spend the lonely nights dreaming of a song
Stardust -- five thousand artists, including Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, Harry Connick Jr., etc.
What's your name? Cause I'm impressed
Hot Boyz -- Missy Elliot
All the happy couples on their way to New Orleans reminding me of when we got along
If I were Brave -- Shawn Colvin
You're been around for such a long time now, oh maybe I could leave you but I don't know how
They Don't Know -- Tracey Ullmann or Kirsty MacColl
When I said I needed you, you said you would always stay
You Don't Have To Say You Love Me -- Dusty Springfield (the only version that matters)
Hank Williams died when I was 5, he sang I'll never get out of this world alive
Raise the Dead -- Emmylou Harris
It's all about the Benjis, so why your bills got Washington's face?
Size 'Em Up -- Big L
(next line: a lot of cats be frontin', mad [not made] singles with a fifty on top.)
Too young to hold on and to old to just break free and run
Lover You Should Have Come Over -- Jeff Buckley (most everyone got this one)
And now I've managed to pass the time until it's time to go home.

Date: 2002-11-01 07:26 am (UTC)There was a surprising little cross section actually -- a lot of people got both the Missy Elliot and the Dusty Springfield and the Jeff Buckley. I guess next time I'll do diverse but possibly a bit less obscure.
