Last night's showing of Beefcake was poorly attended, but I didn't really care at all. Madness Librarian and I are refusing to feel stressed about this, since it's only supposed to be for our own enjoyment. Besides, having poor attendance helped us make a decision regarding keeping the film group at the library after May or whether we'll switch to holding it in our homes, inviting primarily friends and friends of friends, and not limiting our viewing selections to any one genre. We're planning on organizing a group outing to see A Mighty Wind which might be a good jumping off point for a re-vamped film discussion group.

Prior to last night I wasn't particularly looking forward to my gig tonight -- I wasn't dreading it or anything, I just knew in addition to being fun, it was also going to be work, spinning tunes for five hours up there alone in the booth. But now I'm feeling excited, only because I'm in the mood to dance and have been since I tasted it last weekend. So, just a warning, I will spend half the time in the booth smoking and surveying the crowd (like last time) but the other half I'll be shaking my ass, singing along, and ignoring everything including the record-skipping and accidentally setting off Sean Paul in the middle of another song. Oh wait, I did that last time.

So yeah, come to Circuit tonight after 10 pm, all the way until 3 am or so and DANCE, mofo DANCE! I want to see some players on the floor. If you leave a comment with a request here, I might even play a song especially for you.

how about MaryMary's Schackles which we both know and love? or maybe my favorite song to be spun ever, which is best when done by susan esthera. i can't find her CD anywhere but originally i think the song is from delerium's Innocente but the other remix is as an MP3 called something like "innocente (falling in love)-delerium ft. Leigh N...the build up is a little slow but its kind of intense. Susan esther's version makes it so painfully slow its erotic. mmmm.

you KNOW i'm kidding

how about something from the 80s?

maybe eurythmic's "sweet dreams are made of this"?

or george michael's "i want your sex"

if all else fails, there's always the thong song.

great idea! i'll think of you when i play it. shall i call you on my cell phone?

also, i like thong song too. it's sort of a joke because at the last gig some one wanted to perform but didn't bring a song, so i made them perform to thong song. the kings were bitter and acted grouchy on stage, but their backup dancers TORE IT UP!

oh yeah, so do i, but the reference is to last month's kingdom come when djboywonder played the thong song for a group of walk-ons who didn't come with any music.

that'll teach 'em to not be prepared.
