1. No one told me there was a new Magnetic Fields album coming out today! Then again, I've stopped reading most music magazines or websites and know nothing about the most current music if it's not a hip-hop/r&b club song.

2. Why am I suddenly intrigued by the Olsen twins? Not in that creepy sexual Maxim's-countdown-to-their-18th-birthday way, but more in that fascination with their marketing empire and their celebrity personalities. I partially blame [livejournal.com profile] dommeyourass for watching them on Oprah last week.

3. I think I might use the money in my doggie bank I've been collecting for six months to buy season six of Buffy which comes out in three weeks. I know, I know, I should be saving my pennies (literally and figuratively) for my upcoming period of joblessness, but.....BUFFY.

4. Um, who's going to see Mean Girls? Can I come along?

5. I vote NO on the following propositions:

The Last Samurai
The new D12 album
Copious articles on the ending of "Friends" and "Frasier"
Anything containing the phrase "low carb"

I'm game for Mean Girls.. Tina Fey.

$5 Tuesday?

I am in agreement with everything, with the exception of the Olsen Twins. They inspire me to fits of uncontrolable homicidal rage, in a squashing-their-skulls-with-my-bare-hands kinda way. I have been deeply depressed every since I found out that my beloved Eugene Levy is in their new movie.

Mean Girls. Five-dollar Tuesday, all I'm sayin.

I did not, repeat did not, read the above before posting.

Also, yeah, the low-carb thing. Another source of murderous rage.

Did I tell you about going with my aunt, her date, his 15 y.o. daughter, my mother, Rob and Dave to see The Last Samurai?

Yeah.

1. The funny thing is that I was going to ask you to go buy it for me from Tower because I wasn't going to be in town and then decided that it was asking too much of you.
2. Oh. I was about to agree with you but then I read the not in a creepy Maxim way. In my defense, I'm not counting down the days until their 18th birthdays, but I glanced at a picture of them and before my eyes realized it was one of them (I can't even bother remembering which one is which because I don't have enough brain capacity and don't really care), my brain said, "wwhhoooo's that?!"

Mary Kate and Ashley prefer not to be called the Olsen Twins. I saw it today on VH-1. In fact, I watched a 60 minute special on Mary-Kate and Ashley and then I went to work and though to myself how little I managed to accomplish with my day.

Does anybody really care about the Frasier finale? For some reason, I thought it ended a couple of years ago... and then realized it's still on. I'm amazed.

2. i started noticing the olsen twins frenzy on the road trip. i was like why in the hell are they on the cover of every magazine?? then i decided that their faces kinda weird me out.

4. i wanna go to see "mean girls"!! did you already go? :( i want to on a tuesday, but could not last night...

5. friends is crap. but i like frazier. i actually read an article in the ny times on the road trip about him and how he's been that character for 20 whole years. i think that playing a character for 20 years is fascinating.

and another comment on #5:

the "low carb revolution" is one of the most outrageous notions that's happened to this country since the "fat free" everything days of yore. like how everything that already was fat free had to be advertised to death. salsa! fat free! hard candy! fat free! only, maybe this low carb thing is worse.

Dude, I didn't get all these messages until today (no internet at home until Thursday) -- did y'all go last night? If not, how about next Tuesday?

Hey, I got your phone message last night and was thoroughly confused because I hadn't seen all these LJ comments after I left work (no internet at home for the time being). Did y'all go last night? How was it? If not, how about next Tuesday?

I'd buy a CD for you at Tower anytime, since my office is literally around the corner. The problem would probably be afterwards, trying to find a time and place to exchange the goods.

Last night I was reclining on the couch, listening to the new MF album while reading Entertainment Weekly and for a second thought, my campaign to become just like [livejournal.com profile] mintwaster and [livejournal.com profile] cocolola is nearly complete....

I said the same thing last week! I think my example was candy corn being advertised as "fat free". Um, it's just plain sugar -- it's always been fat free!

I also keep thinking about this Onion sidebar a couple years ago -- the one on the front page that the "top ten" whatever. This one was the top 10 WORST selling lowfat foods in America. It included lots of hilarious and made up things, like fatfree twinkies, lowfat Spam, but the number one worst selling lowft food in America is......fruits and vegetables.

It's funny cause it's true.

HAHAHA! I'm ALL about discrimihating on dreadmocks. If your hair doesn't naturally "lock", than there should be no dread. Period.

thank you! because "dreadmocks" is now my new fav. word. so much nicer (and funnier) than my old term of "white-girl-dreads".

PS: I'm adding you, because that might be a record of non-friends-list-person I've left comments to in 2 days. Mean Girls... bringing the world together...

Beacuse I don't want to be just another white person misappropiating something, I want to add that "dreadmocks" as a term was first introduced to me via "Ego Trip's Big Book of Racism", which I highly recommend.

Is it a red and/fuzzy Ikea chair pretending to be a couch? And do you have a bag of chips between your knees? Because otherwise...not the real thing.

No, it was a new big fluffy cream colored couch. I did have a glass of milk and chocolate creme oreos?

I'm a poser.
