I find it amusing that your surprised by my trans status. I didn't think I kept very hidden on my journal! I guess it's nice to know I can still surpise people....
I'm not exactly into that I guess, but I'm still rather impressed with your tastes and interests.
well that's a little presumptuous, isn't it? as far as assuming I want you to be "into" me? such fags are we. ;)
It's tainted my transexual view a bit...have you a better one I can change or challenge my perspective w/?
well, not unless you like to hire me as a consultant to train you on the mysterious ways of trannies. I don't really consider it my duty. However, I'm open to talk about myself and my experience, so if YOU are willing to change or challenge your perspective, then perhaps it will happen. But it's not really my decision. Nor should I have the responsibility of changing your mind.
I'm sorry to hear about your trans friend -- though I would hesitate before thinking that her life choices are based solely on her trans identity. There are probably dozens of reasons why things happened the way they did.
I just want to be upfront and say that my experience as a transguy is just going to be my experience, and won't necessarily stand for the entire trans population. Just like I don't assume you're representative of all gay men, or all bears, or all men. There are tons for transguys around livejournal -- you could probably do some surfing and read about different experiences.
Unfortunately, there aren't many trans bears, at least as far I've found!!
