Now I know I'm not exactly the poster child for happy parental communication, but lately there have been several folks contemplating coming out letters to family, so in case any one is curious, I posted my coming out letters almost exactly a year ago here in my livejournal. you know, I've been trying to write my follow-up letter too. Avoidance is such a rich dish and I have such a sweet tooth. Perhaps my courage from the past can help motivate me in the present....

Oh, and congrats on the chin whiskers. I know you're currently doing the clean-shaven thing, but I too am very fond of my patch under my chin. Especially when I'm stroking it pensively...
