Last night I dreamt that I was reliving the day before my anniversary with MelRo. Except it wasn't how it happened in real life last year. And I was actually experiencing over again, like a Groundhog Day type phenomenon. Like I was experiencing this familiar day for the second time in a row, and I couldn't figure out why. Then my friend Martha appeared (who did my High School Best Friend's wedding last year), and she started talking about how lucky I am to have a second chance to relive the day and make sure everything happens correctly. Apparantly, it was Quantum Leap type phenomenon, where I had to fix something. I kept asking Martha what I had to fix, and she just kept reassuring me, that I would know and that she wasn't allowed to say anything, for fear of further manipulating the future. But then she went back to gushing about what a wonderful opportunity this is, and how I can make sure I find the bowl. And I said "what bowl?" She said, "never mind -- just go about your day. everything will be fine."

So I went to the Feminist Bookstore where I was still working, but had that particular day off. I was meeting De___ and Co___ for lunch and shopping. I remember the bookstore had a convenience store front, because Co___ was picking out a container of juice. Then we started walking down the street, except it wasn't Andersonville -- it was this area of New York, between NoHo and SoHo. And there were people everywhere doing xmas shopping. I was really dazed, because I kept trying to figure out what I was supposed to differently. Finally, the three of us went to this cafe for lunch, and I told them about me re-living the day, and the conversation with Martha. They didn't really believe me, but since I'm not really prone to delusions, they sort of indulged me. I asked them if they had any idea what this bowl is, because I have no memory of a bowl. They suggested that I don't have a memory because I'm supposed to fix the future, and my current memories come from a future with no bowl. Also, they said I would probably know the bowl when I saw it. But then Co___ suggested that the bowl has nothing to do with anything, but maybe Martha mentioned it to intentionally throw me off, so that I wouldn't do some OTHER incident which would "ruin" the future. The implication was that I was somehow trying to make sure that MelRo and I would still get together, but my memories which were from the future (i.e. right now) said we WERE together, so then I thought some action I took on that day would affect me even further in the future.

I woke up without any resolution to the bowl or otherwise.

Now, back to the weekend update.

On Saturday I had a great lunch and shopping venture with Riley, but unfortunately, MelRo and I's sushi date was postpone because she had a bad Chipotle burrito (now I'm REALLY never going to eat there). So we stayed in and watched one of my all-time favorite movies "Home for the Holidays." I'm seen it at leat 5 years -- pretty much every year since it came out. I even have the coming attractions memorized from renting it so much. The movie was especially poignant, because of my own family problems this year. Maybe I'll send a copy of that movie to my brother. Or parents. Maybe I'll include "In the Gloaming". That might be a bit over-dramatic though.

So on Sunday we had a sushi lunch date instead, and cheated on our usual place because they weren't open for lunch. I did some more xmas shopping, we had a short visit with Br__ & St___, and we watched "Therese & Isabelle". Which was pretty good. I might have edited it a bit -- and I'm actually usually okay with long, wandering shots. But this was a little too much. I really want to watch more Radley Metzger films. They were pretty hot, in an atypical movie way.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] limenal is pretty sexy. Actually very sexy. Just a reminder to myself -- not that I'll necessarily ever need it.

Also, having both attorneys at home on a Monday is a great way to ease into the work week.
