it's snowing!!

raybearI went and saw The Fellowship of the Ring this afternoon and enjoyed it greatly. I then went grocery shopping with my kind co-worker who has a car. Now I have a 12 pound turkey to go with my dressing and gravy. Which reminds me, I should probably clean the oven tomorrow.....lots to do, including making another batch of fudge. I'm so Martin Stewart.
I finally talked to MelRo today who made it safely to New York and Philly and such. I actually think I did an excellent job of not worrying too much even when she didn't get a chance to call yesterday. Even following my father's philosophy of no news is good news. It's been taken a bit far in our family, seeing months will pass without contact, but it's still a good sentiment to remember in times of worrywort anxiety.
Speaking of my father, he called me this afternoon and left a voicemail. He was crying. Trying to hide it, but I could tell. He was calling from Utah on their cell phone. So I'm not sure what to do -- try and call the cell phone? They never leave it on and don't have voicemail. Maybe I'll call and leave a message at their home...and an e-mail or something. I didn't erase the message, yet I fear hearing it again.
I will now hunt for some food, do some research on turkey preparation, and enjoy time around the house doing nothing. Tomorrow, there will perhaps be inches of snow on the ground when I go to brunch at Nookie's....
