Today I learned an important lesson. Make sure you keep the xmas tree watered well. Don't ever let the base get dry. And then forget about it for several days.
Right now I'm sitting in a mostly quiet living room (mellow music that's not blasting), and every few minutes I hear a light trickle of a dozen pine needles falling off the branches and skittering onto the plastic tree skirt.
I fear the tree won't make it to Tuesday. Or at least not until MelRo returns from the East Coast. I might have to pitch it later this week. Maybe I'll replace it with my 3 foot fake tree and arrange the present delicately around the base. And just hang the lights around the room instead.
In other news, I opened a second beer. And started side two of the mixtape. My goal is to also decorate the covers tonight. And I'm still going to try and get the oven cleaned. Oh, and it's also still snowing.

glitterdyke which is quite pleasant. I used to be horribly addicted to ICQ, so I'm sometimes reluctant to get onto AIM. But I think doing a marathon weekend once every other month is good. Sorta like making all your long distance catch-up phone calls once a month. For those who don't know, my IM name is "RaymondBoywonder", but as the_passives astutely pointed out, it might sit in your offline folder for awhile before I show up. But I promise to try and show you a good time.
