for some reason the post didn't go through last night....
The day was super mellow and lowkey....sometimes a little too mellow. It was hard to get folks' attention from the mesmerizing trance of cable. But it was great to see folks, and the food was yummy, if I do say so myself. Though others' said it too. Most folks left between 5:30 and 6:30, which was a little disappointing, but then again I think everyone including me had to work the next day. I think I was a little sad because of the two couples going home to probably have "couple home time" or whatever, and it made me miss MelRo swiftly and intensely, whereas prior to that, I wished she was around, but I wasn't depressed or anything. Differently Paced Coworker stayed behind and we planned to meet her friend at the theater to see Waking Life (again!). We ended up having a great conversation and I learned about these whole other sides of her. Including some of her favorite movies (Blue Velvet and Valley of the Dolls! completely unexpected based on my previous knowledge of her movie taste), relationship experiences, including current issues, and she even bummed a cigarette from me on the walk to the theater -- another pleasant surprise. So I got home late and of course that damn alarm was going off some, but I'm starting to cope esp. since I know it will have to end soon with the world returning to its routine.
