For a pretty representative account of my Saturday afternoon activities, you can click HERE at MelRo's journal. I think she captured most of it from my end, too. One addition is the trip to the Asian market across the street in the midst of a high school field trip from suburban town. But I still managed to purchase my buddha figurines without killing anyone. If the murder victim is not legally an adult, can I be tried in juvenile court? I'll ask the attorney at home.

I also picked up some other altar items on another trip out of the apartment (I left the apartment 3 times yesterday!! I think that's a record.), including some candles and an attempt at a candle holder but the cashier didn't wrap it in paper, so when I dropped the bag from 2 feet off the ground, it broke. At least she didn't ask me if I feared life, like she asked the other customer who said she couldn't burn an entire stick of incense. I think the cashier was trying to act all deep, and explain that this person couldn't but a whole stick of incense because she hated to see life end and hated to see the stick end. Turned out the woman was asthmatic. So much for her theory. Anyway, I also bought a bundle of sage which is often burned to cleanse negative energy out of a space (like a new home or whatever). I'm really into burning things, especiallg burning things that smoke and smell refreshing. And if it gets rid of any negative energy along with the residual kitchen smells, then more power to it. So last night I wandered around the apartment like a hippie/wiccan warlock burning sage and candles and listening to Enya. You think I'm"m kidding. Unfortunately I'm not. It was terribly relaxing, surprisingly enough. I also talked on the phone some with Damon while I did it. The smell of sage was interesting -- half like pot, half like the incense one burns to cover the smell of pot. But it did have sort of a clean smell, versus a heavy thick covering smell. I only burned a small amount of the four inch bundle, so I can have several more 'rituals' and get my three bucks worth. Though next time I'll probably choose different music. Possibly Cecil Taylor or Alice Coltrane. Alice is perfect for meditating too. I need one or two things to focus on, like a candle or meditative music, because just my breathing isn't always enough -- my brain gets to noisy and crowded and I have problems sending all the thoughts down the river. They get dammed up. So having 2 or 3 items to focus (like breathing and someone's voice, or breathing and music) helps eliminate some of the thought production.

Then MelRo came home and luckily didn't get too weirded out by the situation. We went to bed shortly after and enjoyed her massage cream I gave her for xmas, as well as being naked.

Today is Requireday, as I told Riley. Laundry, cleaning, studying, reading. Tonight I'm making a big dinner to have with MelRo and Damon, then Damon and I are going to a club for DJ Gigglebyte CD release party. And I have I mentioned lately that I don't have to go to work tomorrow? I haven't made plans yet for my day tomorrow, but I figured I should wait and assume that some things won't get completed today so they will move to tomorrow's schedule.

But first -- showering and a breakfast of panacakes and apple sausages!

there was a tranny shaman of some sort at tsc that burned sage and walked around the entirety of the lecture hall, then tok a drum and beat it around the entirety of the lecture hall, then beat another drum and sang... it was weirdly intense and he had a painfully nasal (in a gay way) voice. he cleansed the place before the opening keynote speaker.

techinically they're apple-pork sausages (i forgot that part). so it's like regular sausage links, but make with bits of apple and spices, including cinnamon. they're made fresh at this butcher/meat market and quite delicious!

they are not fake-meat sausages made with apples, which is probably what they sounded like!
