Attention white people.
The world does not revolve around you. And you probably know you're not supposed to think your way of seeing life is right or best (not that it necessarily stops you), but you should also know it is also not common or normal.

I think I need a baseball bat to more effectively bust up people's pedestals that they're standing on. And smash the blinders they wear. I'm also interested in kidnapping their high horses that they like to ride into other people's communities to help "save the day".

Now my brain is hurting along with my head.

I read in the paper this week that there were some gay-bashings in my neighborhood. And I kept thinking about the NYC political funeral after Matthew Shepard's death and them chanting "fags bash back". Now I know in general I'm trying to be all buddha and peaceful and whatnot in my life, but sometimes I'm just sick of my instinct being fear. So I'd prefer my first thought to be "hmmm, there's some hooligans in my neighborhood looking to take me out? well, i'm going to buy a bat and hit them first."

so uh, yeah, my point is, i don't really believe violence is a nice perfect solution for things but in some cases.....it's at least therapeutic to think about.

I'm sorry about that happenin in your neighborhood. I know what you mean about fear.

Violence, in this case, would be not at all therapeutic for me, but it woudl be impowering and that woudl be dangerous...for me at least.

i think it was the weekend before last...outside one of the gay bars in boystown. i live on Belmont, which has the double-edged sword of being "diverse" so it's more okay for the drag queens and nellys and butches to walk around, but it's also the designated target when the bashers are in the mood to play smear the queer, since they know they'll find a target.
