Anyway, enough quoting lyrics. Let's return to the matter at hand. All previous topics for LJ entries have been temporarily postponed -- you'll have to read about my new payless shoes or the first entry in the chronicles of "Teachers I Loved" another time. Instead, I'm turning to you, dear reader, and polling the audience to help make a decision.
On Saturday evening, I had a wonderful event planned to see a very funny friend do her first ever stand-up routine. Now, we're not best friends -- I've only recently got to know her, and she's the girlfriend of one of MelRo's law school friends, but I like her a lot and hope to get to know her more. I went last weekend to see her perform as part of a comedy troupe, but this weekend will be her solo act. The event is at 7 pm. It will probably last about 2 hours, and probably an outing will occur afterwards. The event is located approximately 2 blocks from my house. I already said I would pay for a ticket.
I just got an e-mail from a student organizer of the queer undergraduate group at U of C. Their DJ cancelled on them for a queer party THIS saturday night. It's from 9pm to 1am. It's in Hyde Park (which is very far from my house, for those who don't know). They'll pay me $300.
I could try to do both. But I'd probably have to leave the comedy event at 8 pm to make sure I got to the DJ gig early enough, and the Stand Up Friend doesn't know when she's going (I just e-mailed her).
What would you do? {insert City High here} Keep in mind I'm generally anti-stress, anti-anxiety-inducing activities, and occasionally lazy. So instead, maybe I should ask:
