senor crankypants, day two

I had a nice rant session this morning involving plots to go down to Marion, Illinois to slap the gum out of the mouth of an attorney's assistant. Damn, were they an ass. But somehow CoWorkerFriend managed to get the correct fax number out of them. I knew she'd be better at that then I would -- I'm too prone to sighing and sounding perturbed, where she can cajole answers out of folks without any sort of prostrating.

But other than that I'm enjoying a day in my new shoes. As I joked last weekend, I'm rocking the fours, aka my Payless Adidas plus one stripe shoes. But these are actually newed versions -- thicker cross-training soles with BLUE stripes, instead of black ones. Now I'm ready for summer.

So I was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] dannyboi's lead and did a Google image search on raybear. It didn't produce happy results. I mean, I don't exactly go around insisting meat is murder, but this makes me sad. Bird hunting and deer hunting, sure fine whatever, but not this!

I will poor some liquor out for my brethren bear.

P.S. The bosses are both out of the office, which means less work and more online time. I deserved this break today. Especially after this w

Oh. my. god.

That is the saddest thing I have ever seen! That's sadder than a warehouse full of teddy bears who will never know the love of a child.

Look at its poor face! I'm so, so sad.

Oh man that's awful! I can't understand actually going and killing an animal and they standing over it happily. Unless maybe I was starving. Even then I think I would be upset by it.

um... "that picture" being your userpic, not the picture of the bear.

I believe that's Craig David, a noted DJ and up and coming singer from London.

You're right, if Craig David was currently a drag king living in Chicago.

Poor bear. Poor poor bear.
Poor children of the future who will view this era as a dark ages of gross inhumanity and disrespect for our planet.
Poor bear spirits, hunted for sport, for waste meat.
Poor isolated humans in crazy white man created society who don't know that we're all linked on the wheel of life and what hurts one of us, hurts all of us.
Poor all of us, that this could be found so easily on the internet. That someone was so proud of this that he'd stop and take this kind of picture.
*sigh*

I presume the dude in the coveralls and jean jacket is "Ray." The Bear looks not much older than a cub. Probably a teenager in bear years.

Could it be that the bear wasn't killed, but just tranquilized and tagged? I don't see any blood... nor is there any weapon...

Just thinking optimistically!

mmmmm, bear steaks for weeks!
