ok, so I think I'm going to call El___ when I get to the bookstore. and the more I think about it, the more I think I want to ask her out.
I think I'm just going to play it like "hey, I think I found one or two suggestions for your gender article. and I'm also interested in having coffee or going to a movie or something with you. what are you doing this weekend? are you free on Sunday?
i never front.
i'm also planning on the uber-direct route, similar to the pass I made to Alex's friend. well, ok, maybe not THAT direct. but I might say something to the effect of, "i don't want to weird you out, but I have to tell you something, and then I'll have three responses for you to give me. So....I think you're really cool and I like hanging out with you, but I'm also really attracted to you. Now, I have a primary partner, and we have an open relationship, so I want you to know that I'm not looking for a serious longterm relationship with you. So now that I've outed myself, here are the 3 things you can say to me.
1. I'm flattered but I have to say no because I can't do that right now (either because you're not attracted to me, you have someone you're with, or you don't want to have a physcial relationship with someone in a casual way -- but don't feel obligated to tell me which of these is the reason!)
2. I'm intrigued. Let me think about it, then I'll get back to you with an answer; or, let's talk about it then I'll give you an answer.
3. Sure. Your place or mine?"
of course, I'm not going to launch into this spiel in the first 5 minutes. I'll do it towards the end of coffee or whatever, because I might interact with her for 20 minutes and then discover I"m not attracted to her at anymore.
this will be fun.
