Aug. 9th, 2001 01:48 pmI haven't actually posted yet today. That's pretty rare. I don't have tons to say though. My post from yesterday was this nice distilled piece of what's been going with me in the past week, and now I'm tapped out.
I did have a good lunch with Li___ yesterday, and a good talk with Damon last night, and ALSO a great lunch with Meg aka Sparky. I moved a few things last night over to the new place, and it was annoying and hot and frustrating and I thought I would just give up and not move, but then I realized that perhaps it was the 93 degree weather inducing a reaction. So this weekend when the high is only 78, I'm planning on doing big moving.
Tonight I'm having dinner with G___ & Damon at a (hopefully) yummy Cuban restaurant. Then I will probably go home to bed. I should maybe do laundry but I think I'm sleep deprived. Talking about it right now is making my eyelids heavy....
I'm almost done with Fight Club -- about 20 more pages. I'm now even more impressed with the movie and it's adaptation -- really really well done. Most of the plot is surprisingly intact, and more importantly, the characterization is done well. Though I think Ed Norton's character is a little more sympathetic and wholesome in the movie, which is probably why the ending seems sort of abrupt and awkward and improbably. In the book, it's easier to see it coming -- the two characters aren't as extreme of doppelgangers.
I need to buy plane tickets, pay bills, and go shopping for MelRo's gift this weekend.
I hate money.
