I'ma still be underground and filthy.
Aug. 30th, 2001 10:23 amMy last day at work before vacation. And both attys are out. Hmmm. Not conducive.
Something happened last night that I'm going to write about in a separate post, probably friends-only, possibly private. Possibly friends-only for today, then I'll change it to 'private' later this afternoon. Hmm. The dilemmas of LJ.
Last night I went to BRew & View which is my new favorite facility. 5 bucks to get in and see as many or as little of the 3 movies they're showing. You can smoke inside the theater (which is a concert venue, not an auditorium, so it's lots of tables and chairs). People comment and cheer. 7 dollar pitchers of beer that could last through at least 2 of the movies. I saw the end of Moulin Rouge and it nearly made me cry again. Almost. Can you almost nearly cry? Because that's what happened. I want to get that soundtrack, possibly before our roadtrip. Then I met up with Damon, Meg and the girl (yes, I know her name -- I'm just preserving anonymity!) and we watched Final Fantasy. Was is a good movie? Not particularly. Did I enjoy it? Thoroughly. Visually it was stunning. I was prepared for a mediocre plot, and many of the critics were right. Though I think it was better than Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider sort of had this quasi-wannabe-complex plot that they didn't elaborate or expand upon. Final Fantasy just had a basic premise with few subplots. And they were on some weird Wiccanesque isht too. Very weird. But cool.
So I don't think we're leaving for the roadtrip until Saturday morning. Which means tomorrow we can sleep in, I can do some laundry, get adequately prepared for the trip, etc. Yay for time off. Yay for California and seeing things and places I've never been.
Yesterday I bought the new Bjork album. I've waited MONTHS for it, yet on Tuesday I forgot. What's up with that? I haven't listened to it extensively, but I can definitely hear influences from her work on Selmasongs.
Tonight is the Pussy Whipped Party sponsored by Dykediva.com. I should probably nap beforehand.
