I feel like it's still yesterday. I got home from work (around 6:30 or so), visited with Riley, Vinnie, and Joe a bit, then left to the book-group get-together with MelRo. Quite a fun and quirky set of fabulous fags. I'm already plotting the various comings-outs which will probably happen along the way. But I'm also looking forward to being in a book group.

I basically came home and supposedly had conversations with the tranny boy bunch, but barely remember. I also recall talking to MelRo in bed for awhile, but it seems like it happened weeks ago. Then I woke up at 4 am and was unable to fall back asleep until 5:30 or so. When that alarm went off, I was hurting. And still feeling cruddy. Tonight I'm REALLY making myself stay home and not do anything but sleep or be horizontal on a futon or bed.

I'm working help-desk today, though I don't feel I can be that helpful to folks.

I listened to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack on the way into work this morning. It helped brighten my mood -- that, and getting a seat on an uncrowded train with no delays (I should be late to work EVERY day). Why did I love that movie so much? Critically-speaking, it wasn't the best -- I'm not trying to make revolutionary groundbreak cinematics or anything. But I liked it's over-stylishness and the use of found music. Even the original songs are found -- they pretty much take the familiar, good parts of more modern musicals. What can I say, I'm just a sap, I guess. No apologies.

Just for the record, I've received no e-mail from my parents. Not a reply from the e-mail right before Thanksgiving, or a reply from an email on Monday. I'm trying to learn a lesson here. I'm not sure what it is yet, which is why I'm writing this down.

So Da Man sent me an "afternoon delight" e-mail (our little inside joke -- aren't we such a cute couple??), and this was the best one yet. A flashback from almost a year and a half ago. Of course, some of these things I still say....

For 3 years I have used the classic lines "you're bastard people!" and "i hate your ass-face". But on my 2304987425th viewing of the movie, I decided to dig deeper and examine the other layers of the movie. I first moved on to "Corky we love you! We want you to live!" as well as "Just drive up and get a coke."

Now I pretty much just mine the final scene with Corky in his new theatre shop:

Those are mah big heads.
Kids don't like school, but with a Remains of the Day lunchbox.....
The part of 'enry 'iggins.....the stern taskmaster....

etc. etc.

I'm convinced there are still lines to be found. Though I'm not sure where since I can recite the entire movie from beginning to end. I need the DVD version with extra footage. When will they release it and complete my life???
