Last night's showing of Beefcake was poorly attended, but I didn't really care at all. Madness Librarian and I are refusing to feel stressed about this, since it's only supposed to be for our own enjoyment. Besides, having poor attendance helped us make a decision regarding keeping the film group at the library after May or whether we'll switch to holding it in our homes, inviting primarily friends and friends of friends, and not limiting our viewing selections to any one genre. We're planning on organizing a group outing to see A Mighty Wind which might be a good jumping off point for a re-vamped film discussion group.

Prior to last night I wasn't particularly looking forward to my gig tonight -- I wasn't dreading it or anything, I just knew in addition to being fun, it was also going to be work, spinning tunes for five hours up there alone in the booth. But now I'm feeling excited, only because I'm in the mood to dance and have been since I tasted it last weekend. So, just a warning, I will spend half the time in the booth smoking and surveying the crowd (like last time) but the other half I'll be shaking my ass, singing along, and ignoring everything including the record-skipping and accidentally setting off Sean Paul in the middle of another song. Oh wait, I did that last time.

So yeah, come to Circuit tonight after 10 pm, all the way until 3 am or so and DANCE, mofo DANCE! I want to see some players on the floor. If you leave a comment with a request here, I might even play a song especially for you.

I just saw a personal ad that said: "Enjoy biking, boating, movies, thrift shopping, communication and God." I know I'm a hypocrite but this is cracking me up.

This morning I thought I woke up with my first allergy problems of the season -- namely, there was lots of lovely fluid down the back for my throat and nose that took up residency during the night. But now it feels a little different, and I fear it's the beginnings of a cold. My muscles almost feel a little achey, and there's a slight 'tickle' in the back for my head/throat. If I have caught Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, I'm going to be so. mad.

In other news, I'm no longer broke. Which means I can treat myself tonight by buying things like toilet paper, soft scrub with bleach, the single for B2K's "Bump Bump Bump", Vitamin!water, and garbage bags.

Coming soon to my theater near me: Lunch with Paradise Regained.

I love Tina's I Don't Wanna Fight.

My desk is amazingly empty. Nothing but gray negative space with the exception of my tiny computer and a couple paper clips and dust bunnies. I'm going home with a tiny box of miscellaneous goods and half a bottle of Absolut vodka from the freezer. What lovely parting gifts. I must say, I'm excited to come to work on Monday and see how different everything will be. I'll finally have a cubicle! This sounds weird, since most people have a goal of getting an office, but I'm not so lofty. Currently my desk sits out in the open, and most everyone else has an office. The only exception to this is Poet Coworker. As of Monday, four of us will be out in the open, but with dividers and cabinets separating us. The actual surface area of my work area won't change, but now my desk will face differently and I'll have some sound barriers (as well as the ability to hide my monitor out of plain view). The co-workers on either side of me are fabulous and I'm sure we'll throw notes over to each other. And Poet Coworker gets moved further away from my desk, so no more yelling at me in the middle of working. Sweet relief.

I would post the list of random items I've discovered in my desk this afternoon, but it's 5 pm, so I'm outta here.
