I'm working on this final annotated bibliography I have to submit for my final piece of this semester and learned you can include articles and single short stories that I read, not just books. Damn. If I wanted to take the time to write a paragraph as to why they were important, I could have a fcking huge bibliography. Note to self: next semester, write it as you go along, not the last week when I'm more likely to get bored at the tedious nature of the task and leave things out.
I got home yesterday to discover our mail is finally being forwarded. Included in this bundle was my rejection letter from Breaf Loaf -- not the person, but the conference that I named the person after. I was not one of the 6% of applicants they selected, which I didn't have super high expectations of getting, esp. after Breadloaf (the person) said he didn't get in the first year he applied. But I was fairly annoyed that 1) I'd already received one writer rejection that day and 2) they spelled my name wrong.
Getting a check in the mail for an old DJing gig helped alleviate the smart. Then again, I did choose this new life of rejection, so I might as well get started on learning how to deal with it.
Speaking of writers, rest in peace to the great Gloria Evangelina AnzaldĂșa.
