Jan. 5th, 2007 08:34 amI didn't really need firemen showing up in my apartment at 5 am last night because of a mysterious alarm beeping. Turns out it was the carbon monoxide detector in the basement. Yes, yes, that's fine, but can I go back to sleep until the gas drifts up to the top floor? Thanks.
Actually, I'm willing to gamble it was just improper installation, seeing as they were brand new and installed about 2 weeks ago. Before falling back asleep and trying to shut out the red flashing lights of the two trucks pulsing into my window, I was suddenly really sad for how boring the daily life of a firefighter must be. I guess things being "exciting" also means dangerous, destructive, and lethal. But you know. Still.
