It's funny how beautiful people look when they're walking out the door.
I like rain when I'm inside and don't have to stay outside for a long period of time. I don't like rain when I have to stand outside waiting on the dog, but she doesn't seem to enjoy it much more than I do.
I grew up in Atlanta where it rains more inches per year than London. I'm used to just dealing with it so I don't get particularly bogged down or upset by its presence, but I also don't get terribly excited with anticipation. I think what upsets me about rain in Chicago is the lack of relief. In Atlanta, the humidity is consistently 98%, then gets boosted to 100% while raining and for a few hours after the storm, the humidity drops to around 70 or 80 before climbing back up. In Chicago, I feel that the rain adds humidity to the air, so it's often stickier and hotter and nastier after the storm and I rarely even relish the smell of ground being washed clean. Especially since it feels more like garbage water under my feet.
Perhaps that's the real difference -- urban rain. Sure, Atlanta's a big city but it's more of a metropolitan area and lacks some of the feel of urban life that Chicago and New York and Los Angeles possess. There are also fewer trees in those places.
Today I get a booster shot which probably means I'll be in better spirits for 2 weeks or so. Not that I'm horrible right now, but I tend to feel higher and more energetic and more libidinous. I can be a rock star like Ewan McGregor in black leather pants setting the stage on fire.
And for some reason I'm sick of getting horoscopes that are so damn accurate. Here comes the moon.

Question: Cl_ asked if maybe there's a possibility her and Bo_ might stay with me. (and yes, there's that much ambiguity.) I didn't even give a tentative yes, because, oh, I don't know -- it's horribly weird? I might just offer them the ability to stay with us one evening if they need it. Any opinions on the matter, because I'd certainly love them from you. Seriously.
