Let's just do this chornologically, shall we?

Friday we stayed home and ate frozen pizza and watched Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion because she was in the mood for a comedy and I was in the mood for something that wouldn't surprise me. I took Nyquil and went to sleep early.

After nine hours of sleep I felt much better but still had some clogging of the head pipes (which is true for the whole weekend and up-to today). After some Saturday morning playtime with both Sophie and in the bedroom with [livejournal.com profile] limenal, we went out for sandwiches and came back to clean the apartment some. I left in the mid-afternoon to attend the loverly B96 B-Bash (why the extra B?) with Myles and his adorable and amusing younger brother.

The traffic down to Joliet (?!?) was horrendous, but I actually enjoyed sitting in the backseat of the air-conditioned family-mobile. We finally found our way to the motor speedway, and discussed the ironic implications (ha) of attending an "urban music concert" out in the middle of some corn fields and farmhouses. We arrived just in time to here Nelly singing about it being Hot in Herre (sic) while we parked the car and walked the half-mile to the stadium.

The B-Bash was a glorious smorgasbord and buffet of people-watching delights. My visions of sitting on a grass-field were dashed and instead we spread our blanket out on the hot pavement of the racetrack.

The concert itself was just okay as far music performance standards go -- only 3 songs per performer, and even though it was lineup of crossover dreams, NO ONE came out and performed with each other. Fat Joe used the record of Ashanti, Mary J. used the record of Ja Rule, P. Diddy used the record of EVERYBODY, esp. since half the songs he played weren't his. I don't understand why their asses couldn't show up on stage an hour early so they could actual do live rendition of the craptastic since Rainy Days. At least give me that, Ja! But no. At least we had Mary J. breaking it down on "No More Drama".

I had an intense moment of lust for her during her performance. I mean, I love Mary J and always think she's bootylicious, but it was this strange moment of "oh-my-I-want-her-right-now-but-since-I-can't-I'll-hang-posters-of-her-in-my-locker-and-bedroom-instead-and-just-dream-of-her-every-night". But it passed and now I'm just back to a normal level of fan-ship.

I had a fabulous time getting to hangout one-on-one with Myles who did NOT bore me with stories of ex's and anecdotes about friends from college. I was perfectly entertained and we both are unfortunately not slick when it comes to gawking at people because we would both stop mid-sentence to follow a person across our line of sight.

Unfortunately we missed seeing Charli Baltimore and Ashanti live on stage, but in the end I'm glad we left pre-major traffic and I still didn't get home and get to sleep until 2 am. Will County is a long, long, long way from Lakeview. And 8 hours is a long long time to have dreams with a constant soundtrack of top 40 B96 music.

Yesterday was me helping Mr. "I Don't Believe in Boxes" Damon move. Next time I won't be helping him until he's convinced of the existence of cardboard storage facilities for magazines and books. But I was glad to see his new place and help him out, as well as spend some time chatting and having lunch at the fabulous diner eatery near his old apartment.

And then, and then, and then, I returned home after being long lost and hot and tired and [livejournal.com profile] limenal took me to Circuit City and bought my birthday gift early for me -- a PlayStation 2 with three games and a DVD. I was, and still am, ecstatic. Myles came over to help us break it in (i.e. stare at it for 5 hours). We mostly played the game with ourt beloved Wolo (Super Bust-a-Move), but we also watched the Christopher Guest/Eugene Levy commentary of Best In Show while eating plaintains and beans and rice and sausages.

So that about brings us current.
