At lunch last week with Matt and Jessie (aka natureboy and clockwatcher), Matt was inquiring about any possible sexual adventures so far on my vacation. I was saying that Jessie had teased me the night before about wanting to have "a girl in every port", and I repeated this to him, adding that I wasn't necessarily interested in that idea (though maybe a boy in every port?). Then I mentioned my adoration for Jessie and Phyllis and how I was thinking about making a nice happy home triad of us and that I hoped Melanie and Myles wouldn't be too sad if I broke the news that I was leaving our triad.

But Jessie quickly advised that I didn't have to give anyone up -- I could instead have a triad in every port, rather than just a girl or a boy. She then wisely added that while I was away, she and Phyllis could monitor each other.

The lightning-quick Matt responded, "Oh, is that what they're calling it these days?"

Yes, yes it is. Or at least that's what I'm calling it now.

Oh, natureboy, you're a wit after my own heart. I don't think I waxed eloquently about you in any other LJ post, so I wanted to make sure you knew I had a smashing time during our brief luncheon and hope we will get an opportunity to do it again soon.

anyway, yes, i can TOTALLY see you and matt getting along smashingly. that makes so much sense :)

i sometimes feel like josie exists in a world apart...you know? not apart from everything and everyone, b/c she is very much a part of my yale world, and even kind of my evanston world, but not really my lj world. even though she reads lj obsessively :P

but yeah, that's why i didnt include her, not because i dont love and adore her to pieces, but b/c she doesnt really fit into my "other life" :P that sounds so funny...
