Becoming, Pt. 2

MelRo is sick, possibly with what I had on Wednesday paired with a bad allergy attack brought by a soy beverage I recommended. I suspect she has an allergy to vanilla and not the soy, but I'm no scientist.

So we're watching the end of season two Buffy, because that's always best when bedridden and feeling bad. And I got all excited about the brief cameo of Jenny Calendar, so I decided I should look her up for the possibility of seeing the actress in something at the video store, thereby alleviating some of my grief.

Robia La Morte. That's her name. I knew that, I've seen the credits enough times. It didn't ring any bells. I didn't expect to find out she was in something I'd seen.

But this...this is better than the realization that Anthony Head was the Nescafe guy. This is just....too much.

Robia La Morte was Pearl. As in Diamond and Pearl. As in Prince and the New Power Generation circa 1991 (was the NPG ever NOT circa 1991?). As in Get Off and Cream.

I can't believe Jenny Calendar is Pearl. I think I'm just going to stop here and not read anymore.

You know, I sorta feel the same way. That episode when Xander's all like "I think you want to forget that he killed our friend and just get your boyfriend back", I couldn't help but agree a little. I mean, I like that Buffy is in love with him and knows it problematic, because it provides good tension -- I did get a bit misty at the end of season two. But still. Angel is a little creepy and stalkerish if you ask me. Which, you know, isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I feel like most people ignore that.

Netflix was my dealer for seasons one and two, but I own season three all by myself. And season four gets released in June. When I get money I'm going back to buy seasons one and two.

I love Jenny Calendar. But don't read anything about the actress -- she's boring and a good Catholic girl and nothing like Jenny.
