raybear: (...and that)

At this time I'd like to welcome back to the show my D'Angelo concert t-shirt which has written large scrawl across the front "F*ck the Slice", except the U is written and there a red asterick on top of it, so it's only partially censored. I pulled it out of the bottom of a seldom used drawer.

I never wore this shirt around my ex because she made me paranoid about being publicly indecent. Today I hesitated briefly before wearing it to work, then decided in my world it's casual Friday, which is different because yesterday I could wear jeans and t-shirt but today I can wear one with "obscene language" on it. My shirt is rated PG-13.

Also, this morning while taking Sophie for a couple turns around the parking lot I suddenly remember last fall when I made a post offering to have people parody my journal. Click HERE to read it. Big ups to the genius of those who took time to lovingly skewer me.

I find it amusing that I've since recanted my distaste for the word "hott" with multiple t's. However you still can't make me say I "heart" something. That has never found it's way into my vocabulary.

The server is still down at work. Which means the only thing I CAN do is internet related. Woe is I.

that happened to me with the work "wicked". i used to say it with a bad boston accent, a la Jimmy Fallon/Rachel Dretch in the SNL skit. then i just started saying it regularly with no 'irony' attached. then people ask if i'm from massachusetts but i don't understand why.

ha!!! i'm remembering my first week in boston when i was introduced to a woman named donna and the introducer, who was a native bostonian, said, "donner, this is amba, amba, donner..." amba stuck around as a nickname for me all through law school, much to my chagrin.

then a few weeks later i was on the T and i heard some older teenage girls squeal "ah my gahd! the guys from hahvahd ah wicked smaht."

i miss being able to rattle through my repetoire of east coast accents: boston, rhode island, brooklyn, bronx, manhattan, long island, upstate...(hmmmm...feeling nostalgic. not really. but it would be a nice added theatrical touch.)
