So last night I sat down and ran some numbers through the snazzy astrology program my boy Damon hooked me up with. Here's the scoop on you LJ junkies. For those who are wondering, your ascendent is also known as your rising sign. It's the other part of your personality -- sort of your inner personality and your outer personality. And your moon sign is another strong sign in relation to your emotions. So, for example, I'm a Cancer, with an Aries ascendent and my moon in Libra. I have a lot of Cancer traits, like being a homebody, being sensitive, family-oriented, defensive (in good and bad ways), but I also have some Aries personality traits, such as strong-will, leader-oriented, stubborn, forceful. The ascendent is more of what you present to the world, but your sun sign (for me, Cancer) is more how I am inside. My Moon sign is Libra, which means I strive for an emotional balance, and I tend to focus on others and how I relate to them.

thank you bunches for doing this. very interesting stuff. i should have known you and i would have similar stuff since our inner rockstarr is Beck and all :) And Tara is my best pal- guess this explains it- or not :)
i have all these sort of intense relationships with ppl who are cancers. Whether it is dating, friends or working.
Also, Aaron is a scorpio.

my question is- is it better to ahve this kind of thing in common with someone? or are you best matched with folks who 'compliment' your sign?

I am definitely NOT as expert, but from my little bit of info plus personal experience and anecdotal info, the answer is.....it depends. Ha. Seriously, I think some same-signs work well together and others don't. I don't tend to be strongly attracted (I don't just mean sexual) to other Cancers. I'm either just casual friends, or I dislike them. Or at least get annoyed by them. But I do tend to get along really well with people who have Cancer in a strong house (like Moon sign or Rising sign). And I tend to get along well with people who's Sun sign are my Moon signs or Rising sign (I have many Aries friends (and an ex) and my best friend is a Libra --technically Libras and Cancers should hate each other or something).

I'm guessing Aaron being a Scorpio is probably a good match. Possibly intense, but good. My other ex was a Gemini, and supposedly Geminis and Cancers either work out great in a sort of opposites attract way or more likely they get along horribly. I think we started out one way and then declined!

The thing I'm starting to like about astrology is the fact that there are no absolute definitions (sort of like the tarot). It's more that doing charts explains possible conflicts and there are always exceptions or ways to overcome them.
