raybear: (my mug)

I'll always love you but my heart belongs to me.

Before I begin, I must just state a couple random things:
1. Nelly Furtado is the new Nate Dogg in hip hop.
2. While Luna bars are extremely delicious, Clif bars (the same company that makes Luna bars) are not as tasty. This might be one of the few times in the history of the world where the "regular" product is inferior to the "especially for women"'s product. I feel I should commend someone.

I spent hours and hours downloading music and organizing samples last night and it started off casually enough, taking breaks for other random tasks like buying my costume for Friday's act. By the end of the evening, I was so focused and fixated that I couldn't pull myself away until I had at least half the songs completely done, no matter how tired my eyes were or how fried my brain or that there was a sexy loving person sitting on my couch watching Pet Psychic and wanting me to chill out with them. But sometimes that happens to me with projects -- I get something under my skin and all is not well until it's complete, or at least a portion of it is complete enough to satisfy the urge. Once I've boarded the freight train of productivity, I'm loathe to get off since I'm not sure when the next one will be by to pick me up.

Last night I slept with the air conditioner window unit on. This makes me happy, because I like being able to sleep with a blanket year round but also because it's practically physically impossible for me to sleep when I'm overheated. I remember the summer of 2000 when I had no air and my girlfriend's apartment had no air, and I spent three months on the brink of insanity because I was averaging four hours of restless sleep a night. Not good, my friend.

Last night I had a dream with a special guest star: [livejournal.com profile] louche. We were partners-in-crime on some sort of adventure or caper, which I can't remember the details or how illegal the activities were, but I was having fun at the time.

And speaking of livejournal in non-livejournal contexts, I received a fabulous early birthday gift from [livejournal.com profile] freakysparks that's a Buffy book containing an essay by [livejournal.com profile] willagurl. How cool are my friends? Very.

Cliff Bars vs. Luna Bars

Luna Bars come in weird but tasty flavors and use soy protean.
Cliff Bars come in normal flavors but use saw dust as filler.

ah, haaa...

first: who is nate dogg? man, i really love nelly furtado in that jurassic5 song. it's just so damned catchy.

second: sometimes i like both clif bars and luna bars. i've now overdone it on the luna bars so i'm tired of them. so now, i'll eat a peanut crunch clif bar now and again.

as for your dream: i wonder if it's possible that i entered your dreamworld due to stories [livejournal.com profile] dommyourass could have told you about my real life crazyassed adventures? hmmm. i know she knows a few. but what fun!

perhaps there will be real life adventures to come including you and me.

Nate Dogg sings the hooks on tons of songs, including 50 Cent's 21 Questions, Fabolous's Can't Deny Me, Mos Def & Pharoah Monche's Oh No, and lots of Dre and Snoop stuff, including The Next Episode. I'm sure you've heard him before -- and once you realize who he is, you'll start hearing him everywhere.

That Jurassic 5 song is what I was listening to this morning which made me make the Nelly Furtado comment!! Get out of my head!! Other recent favorite songs guest-starring Nelly: The Roots's Sacrifice and Ms Jade's Ching Ching Ching.

I haven't heard too many of your stories from [livejournal.com profile] dommeyourass or anyone else -- so perhaps it's from our comment exchange yesterday about you wanting to date "free spirits" aka crazy people? ;) I really wish I could remember more of the plot of the dream, because I'm sure it was amusing. The only thing I can remember is one scene where some friend of mine was trying to give me sensible parental advice and you were standing over their shoulder like "yeah, whatever! let's go!" and we went.

i probably do know nate dogg, cause i know all those you mention very well. i'll have to pay closer attention. and ooooh, yeah, i love that roots' song!

yes, yes you're right. and i was gonna mention that it probably had to do with our exchange re my attraction to the crazies. and, as [livejournal.com profile] dommyourass mentions, it's also probably because i report many of my adventures here. i like that i say "yeah, whatever!" tee, hee. from the "whatever" song, eh?

louche...i'm learning your adventures through your lj. which is probably where raybear is learning them too.

it could also have been him picking up some sort of psychic thought of mine. i was thinking all last night that i really wished i had ditched out on my plans with him (which ended up being me watching pet psychic on the couch while he worked) and joined you at the show. i was feeling like having a late night, do what moves me, wild adventure sort of night. your night was probably very subdued, but in my mind i was going to convince you and whoever went to the show to go out into the city and cause a ruckus.

The power of suggestion

All you have to do is ask. I know I can be a homebody at times, but when you have that glint in your eye I can often easily be convinced into going out.

Unless of course part of the fun would have be going off without me in tow.

I think the actual cool thing is that you could recognize my last name, which, to my knowledge you have never seen before. It's not a bad book overall. And, you know, the closing chapter is mine! Me. Me. Me.

In other news, I'm answering your interview questions in another browser window right now. I had to do some right hard thinkin' for them.

My best friend loves Clif Bars and in fact bought several boxes to take home with her to Vancouver after being down here for a couple of months.. I don't understand why she likes them so much. I think they're nasty.

"Nelly Furtado is the new Nate Dogg in hip hop."

You are my cosmic twin. I was explaining to someone yesterday that a hook just ain't a hook without Nate or Nelly. Really. I'm just waiting for someone to put the 2 together and make my head explode.
