raybear: (while you were out)

Today I wasn't planning on spending money, but Tricky released a new album a couple weeks ago. I can't believe I didn't know this happened. I'm pleased as punch. And horny. I can't help myself -- it's Tricky! I haven't listened to it enough to write a proper review or assessment, though I'm rather enjoying this cover of "Dear God". And what happened to his previous vocalist Martine? Now he's using this more breathy vocalist Costanza, who grabbed my attention on Blowback and is growing on me, but I'm just curious to know what fate awaited the previous beauty.

Today I'm wearing gay jeans and gay shoes but a not-so-gay t-shirt. I guess I want to keep people guessing.

Today is 99-cent rentals at my local video store and I'm considering finally seeing the movie Drumline.

Today I will do lots of laundry and have not only clean clothes but also clean sheets and towels should you decide to come over to my house.

Today I will complete several work tasks even though I would prefer to write on the new story I started last night.

But first, I will eat lunch. I really want to go out but I should microwave the food I brought instead.

This album is called "Vulnerable" and came out a couple weeks ago.

The album that features Alanis Morrisette and other random pop musicians is called "Blowback" and came out about a year and a half ago. I just picked it up used during my roadtrip vacation a month ago, and surprisingly, I really really like it, or at least some of the specific songs.

The concept of that last album scared me...but I might check out the new album.

I do love some tricky

Blowback as a whole was a complete disappointment. I only liked 2 tracks on that cd. The alanis one and the one with that poem. But otherwise, Tricky fell off with that album.

Unforgivable. He would have to make a 2003 equivalent to Maxiquae to redeem himself. And even if he did, he would still be an outcast!

Anyway, I refuse to bother with the new album, until people tell me it's brilliant.

(Exaggerated for effect.)

Martine did a solo album, Amazon.com keeps "recommending" it to me but I can't for the likes of me remember the title. Cheers, Nemo

Oooh, I'd love to watch Drumline with you. Sadly (well, not really cause they're good) I have other plans. I think we (I think by "we" I mean "I") need to have a small get-together soon that would involve cocktails and playing the random bizarre games I keep buying at thrift stores. Of particular interest to me is the Dr. Laura Schlessinger board game I recently acquired at the Hammond Goodwill for $1, which I think would be a BLAST!
