I had lunch with a very exclusive group of luncheoners, sometimes known individually (and in reverse alphabetical order) as [livejournal.com profile] mintwaster, [livejournal.com profile] louche, and [livejournal.com profile] loosethread. Which I would have missed completely since I was wandering around about three blocks away from where they meet, but luckily I ran into Louche on the sidewalk.

Mintwaster gave me a hit of crack known as a GameBoy. Those three-second games were completely perplexing and confusing, but damn it if I wasn't immediately jonesing for more. Next time I think the lunch date should include Miller Pub and walking down to the Apple Store, since I've never been either.

I haven't heard from Extremely Forward yet, but there's still time for her to call to either plan or cancel. I decided I'm only down for coffee or dinner and no actual playing, but hopefully negotiation will occur if the vibe continues to be good. We can get together later in the month when I'll be more game, and I'm sure I'll feel more comfortable after having a conversation that lasts more than five minutes and takes place outside of a bar. That might be enough for me to makeout with someone, but it's hard to get a good read when it comes to more intense play.

Today I'm wearing my one and only western shirt and someday, someone, will make use of the fact that it's held together by snaps and not buttons. I myself have enjoyed ripping my own shirt off my chest so it's about time someone else had the pleasure as well.

Yes, very exclusive. You must 1) work within walking distance to the SAIC garden 2) want to eat at Cosi once a week and 3) be obssessed with Cameron Diaz, but at the same time grossed out by her relationship with JT and worried about her drug problem.

Honestly, we stay exclusive because we haven't found anyone willing to go through our hazing. So practice eating those hard-boiled eggs and balancing a toothbrush on your head and some day you might be one of us.

We never got to gushing over Cate Blanchett. And you know what? Don't get mad, but the iPod was just okay. I can't belive I just said that. And yes, Miller's Pub. But within the next two weeks because my boss is back in mid-August and I won't be able to do long lunches anymore.

am i living under a rock?

Um, yeah. Don't you read US Weekly? It's the cover story. She was here when he was in town, dancing in the VIP section with his mom and smoking a joint.

Hey, what if I'm two-thirds of number 3, but I fit all the other requirements? On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I work at Michigan and Madison.

But wait, is this one of those boys only things?

two-thirds is okay.

i think.
let me run it by the committee and i'll get back to you.

as far as boys-only things: no. and it's rare that we have those. actually, i don't know that we ever actually plan on having "boys only" anythings. they just happen.

It depends on which two thirds of number three you are...

Don't disparage the iPod!!! Actually, I don't really care. Unless you're just saying that to throw away suspicion while you prepare to steal it from me.

It's sort of an expensive toy that's not necessarily worth it for someone who isn't a total music obsessed junkie like me, who must constantly have a soundtrack to every second of my day. I listen to it on the train, at work, in the car, while walking around. I like the ability to compose spontaneous mixes and the instant gratification of hearing them.

Maybe at some point I'll make more use of the address book and notepad functions, though maybe not because I've never been good with dayrunners which is why I never boarded the Palm Pilot train.

Excuse me, my three-minute egg timer went off.
