I'm leaving....this time it's for real.
Aug. 14th, 2003 12:41 pmI have been remarkably productive today, including the work I'm paid to do. More of that will come this afternoon though, so the morning was spent completeing my FAFSA, convincing the new rental place to let me pick up keys to my apartment on August 21st, and making a truck rental reservation with Ryder. I was all set to go with Uhaul because their prices were so much cheaper than everywhere else until I realized it's because they charge nearly a dollar more per mile. So I decided I would probably end up driving at least 30 miles total and did the math to save myself some money. Hopefully. I can be great in the grocery store when it comes to choosing products and finding sales, but not always the most fiscally aware in other areas.
So here's early notice for folks who might be available to help me move. I'm renting the truck on the afternoon of Friday August 22nd and plan on spending that afternoon/evening emptying my apartment and loading the truck. Then on Saturday morning (around 9:30 am) I'll drive to the new apartment for unloading. If you can help both times, that's great but I'm hoping to maybe find lots and lots of people who can donate a couple hours on either day, rather than depending on two or three people to help me do it all. Just so you know, I currently live on a second floor and I'm moving into an apartment on the first floor, so there aren't excessive stair-climbing. I'm planning on renting two dollys for an assembly-line moving setup and there will be lots of beverages and snacks.
I should also start packing soon, probably starting this weekend and continuing in the evenings next week.
lakenaiad, I'll be contacting you about that!
