P.S. What do you know about Blender? I want to throw a small benefit and K thought maybe combining forces with Blender would be cool. I don't want to go up against them in terms of being a competing event, and I got to thinking that maybe my networks and invites could throw some publicity and people to Blender in the long run and maybe I could convince them to give me a cut of the door if I can draw a bunch of people in or publicize for it alot. Any ideas?
from what I know: 1) they already have events scheduled through december 2) they're so new as a weekly queer event, still trying to get established themselves, drumming up people and support and publicity, so they aren't really in a place where things are going so strong and great in the moneymaking department that they could easily lend their support to other causes. e.g. i think 10 paying people showed up on sunday, so the workshop didn't happen, the bar closed early and i took a paycut.
Please hold -- AIDS will be right back. I, however, am too busy being gay for pay today and will be unable to discuss your rights until after working hours. beep
yeah, well, i'm too busy fighting for the right of every young person to receive a K-12 education that is free from harassment and discrimination (specifically based on their actual or perceived sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression) to even *respond* to your non-journal entry.
