Mr. Boddy.
Jul. 2nd, 2001 03:58 pm(Funny how quickly time passes when one actually is busy at work.)
I have this feeling that I'm getting ready to lose more weight. I mean, realistically speaking, I'm probably losing it fairly steadily, but I feel like it happens in waves. I remember about 5-6 months ago I was doing the whole standing-in-front-of-the-mirror-in-only-my-briefs thing, and I didn't feel smaller, but I felt that my flesh was looser -- more separated from my muscle and softer/thinner. Probably not explaining this well. I think what happens is that I lose fat/gain muscle, but it takes longer for my skin and such to tighten around myself. So anyway, last night I was actually having a good body night, bouncing around in my underwear and whatnot, and I felt that way again. And I can totally tell that my legs look really different -- leaner, slightly different shape. My arms are getting stronger and slightly more defined. I need to be more religious about lifting. Now I"m doing it about twice a week, but I want to do it every other day. And I'm going to try and run tonight as well. Luckily the weather has cooled off, so it will be more tolerable.
The downside to me getting leaner is that I feel my chest is more prominent. I probably have lost some weight on top, but if I keep losing my belly, I won't have a barrel-chested look. I'll end up looking top-heavy, which a lot of guys who work out exciessively have (mammoth pecs) and I don't much care for it! I hope I won't have to come up with a new binding option.....Maybe I can shoot for surgery this winter instead of next spring/summer.....damn my lack of money.

Who are you calling a fruit?
Date: 2001-07-02 03:16 pm (UTC)Nowadays, I'm looking more like an Edge container, as Melanie would say. She says she's more of a Joy bottle (as in dishwashin liquid) and I look more like a cannister of shaving gel. It's not exactly true when I'm naked, but it's more true with how I looked dressed. Again, if that makes sense. So anyway, in some ways, I think my weight loss definitely helps me "pass" better -- less hips, less ass.
[Side note: I think it's sort of interesting that you bind, too. I guess because I've been doing it for so long, that if I didn't have to, I wouldn't. Well, that's not exactly true -- it would be fairly uncomfortable to hang free, if you know what I mean. How often do you bind? Everyday? What do you use? How does it make you feel different?]
I definitely feel a huge advantage in this weight loss endeavor because of testosterone. I get increased muscle mass even without lifting weights, and lifting weights becomes easier and more effective. Also, I think my energy level is higher, which makes it easier to exercise. And my metabolism has changed, so that I don't east as much in one sitting but I get hungry more often and I get less hungry at night. Perfect setup for weight loss -- several small meals through the day that taper off. But don't think I'm just resting on my ass taking advantage of these perks -- it will all come back to haunt me if I don't start making some permanent changes. So I'm starting NOW with the hopes of retaining them in the long run.
What's your current exercise program? And your eating habits (not so much calories, but more vairation and general size and frequency of meals)? Do you lift too?
(Sorry this is so long!)

Date: 2001-07-02 05:06 pm (UTC)your description of your mody type does indeed make sense to me.
i only bind on special occasions. like, nights out and the like. just for aesthetics mostly. sometimes it gives me more of a charge to look like a boi than a girl. if i do it i use a sports bra and a waist trimmer.
i don't actually lift, i have never done any strength training of that nature, although i really should start.. now i am 20 pounds over my goal weight and i would like that 20 pounds to come off from a combination of exercise and diet.
i'm doing weight watchers, which means there is a "point" system of sorts... in that i have a certain number of "points" ( a combo of fat, calories, and fiber) i can eat in a day and outside of that, anything goes. usually i end up eating similiar to you - having smaller meals throughout the day, making sure they are generally healthier than i had been doing, and snacking frequently - more fruit, more fat free pudding :), and more carrot sticks and the like. i am developing an eating pattern i can maintain by eating frequently and often. i usually eat lightly 4-5 days a week and not as the other 5-7 - so that my metabolism gets fooled, and also i balance... if i'm going out to dinner i eat lightly the other two meals. exercise is usually walking 30-45 minutes a day. not too much but enough i will maintain. that's the key for me, don't do anything i wouldn't keep up.
