This morning I had a moment of thinking about my consumer addiction, specifically music. Granted, I don't buy nearly as many albums as I used to, but I still overspend more than I should in the current Frugal Raymond Period as my life should be known. But then, after feeling shafted by the random personals ad guy, I went to Tower and bought Kylie Minogue's new album. Cause, you know, in case I was unclear about my fag identity, that pretty much sealed the deal. I left the store to walk around a couple city blocks to burn off some negative energy, and almost immediately my cell phone rang and it was Lowenstein.

"How's it going?"
"Eh, alright. I'm doing a little better."
"Why were you not doing well?"
"Didn't you just read what I wrote?"
"No."
I explain what happened.
She offers loving sympathy.
Then I say, "wait, I've just been talking about me. Why are you calling?"
"I'm driving home to change clothes and eat lunch and just sensed you needed something, so I called."

Um, yeah. Like I told her, it's not that I ever forget our psychic connection, it's just that I love these moments because I never take it for granted.

The remote for my ipod broke yesterday on the way home. I assume that's what it means when all the buttons stop working spontaneously (i.e. not after dropping it in a sink of water or stepping on it but just one minute I was fastforwarding through a song and the next minute I could no longer adjust the volume). To someone who likes to listen to all 2,000+ songs on random, this is a heartbreak. But this morning I made a playlist called "broken remote" so I could hear all my current favorite tracks all in a row. How long this lasts depends on the cost of a new remote. Maybe I should return the Kylie album.

speaking of cds...i'm missing a bunch of mine. i went to look for the soundtrack to the matrix this morning and i couldn't find it. my case seems very sparse too, even with some of yours mixed in. did i throw away cds in the move? if i did, why do i still own funkmasterflex and mrs. miller?

there's a box next to the desk that has your old tape player and all your tapes -- perhaps there are some CDs in the bottom of that box? otherwise i'm not sure where they'd be, cause i don't think you got rid of any in the move. if yours had gotten mixed in with mine during our housesitting debacle, i probably would have noticed when i reorganized a couple weeks ago.
